St. Joseph Church Missions Committee's Missions for Transition deliver donated furniture & household supplies to clients transitioning from local shelters & halfway houses into their new homes, and to others in need in the community. This past April 2019, 120+ familes who live in the Brookside Village Mobile Home Community in Conway AR, were served with eviction notices by the owner. They needed to vacate by June 30. Volunteers from local nonprofit organizations, churches & the city have been providing all sorts of help with the relocation of these displaced families. The residents lacked the financial resources to do this on their own. St. Joseph Catholic Church provided financial asistance. Members from the St. Joseph Church Missions Committee also helped relocate a somce of the residents' furniture & belongings. Photos provided by Fred & Candy Schulze, and Joe Cordaro.
Students of the St. Joseph Church Youth Ministry ands adult volunteers gathered together to pack donated items into "blessing bags" for this year's Project Encounter. These items were donated throughout the year by parishioners through the Pack the Pantry ministry which routinely collects food before each Mass on the first weekend of the month. Parishioners offer blessing bags to needy people they come across during their travels throughout Conway, AR.
